A 1700-year-old town named "Dachang" has been rebuilt at the side of the Dachang Lake in the region of Three Gorges in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. Original Dachang town has been submerged by the stocking water of Three Gorges. The ancient town, covering an area about 48.7 square kilometers, will open on October 1, 2007. It has 35 rebuilt old buildings, which will make it a new tourism attraction in the region of Three Gorges.
