Steve Hatch from New London in Connecticut was struck by a one-in-3-million chance when catching a blue lobster at the mouth of the local Thames River. The one and a half pound clawed creature is bright blue, the result of an extremely rare genetic mutation while not the enviroment.
Spared from being cooked, the rare crustacean has been brought to the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration (see the map) where two other blue captive lobsters currently is being raised.
