Hu Jintao Warns Against Taiwan Secession on APEC
As the situation across the Taiwan Straits has entered a "highly dangerous period", Chinese President Hu Jingtao has sent tougher warnings to the Taiwan authorities when meeting up United States' President George W. Bush at the sidelines of APEC Held in Australia's Sydney.
"This year and next year are going to be a highly dangerous period for the situation in the Taiwan Straits,"
"We must issue harsher warnings to the Taiwan authorities that any secessionist attempt aimed at 'Taiwan independence' in any form will be doomed."
Actually the warning is nothing new, these rhetorics have been know since we were still attending in the middle school.
Of course, you know, when responding to Hu's warnings, Bush has to state again:
Washington firmly adheres to the one-China policy, observes the three US-China joint communiques and opposes any unilateral act to change the status quo across the Taiwan Straits.
Finally, as the 26th Summer Olympics will be held in Beijing next year, for sure Bush has been invited to visit Beijing at Hu's invitation lo.

, the woman who says Bill Clinton groped her in the Oval Office, claims she was the target of an unusual house burglary over the weekend that nabbed a manuscript for her upcoming book, which promises explosive revelations that could damage Sen. Hillary Clinton
Willey told WND little else was taken from her rural Virginia home as she slept alone upstairs – electronics and jewelry were left behind – and she believes the Clintons were behind it.
The break-in, she said, reminded her of the widely reported incident 10 years ago in which she claimed she was threatened near the same Richmond-area home by a stranger just two days before she was to testify against President Clinton in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case.
The theft of the manuscript early Saturday morning was suspicious, she told WND, coming only days after the first mainstream media mention of her upcoming book [Target: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton], which is expected to include accusations of campaign finance violations and new revelations about harassment and threats by the Clintons and their associates.

Ohio Republican Paul GillmorDiscovered Dead in Apartment
Same as Rev. D. James Kennedy, Rep. Paul Gillmor (R-Ohio), a 10-term congressman from northwest Ohio, has died of heart attack at the age of 68.
Paul Gillmor was found by staff members who went to his apartment after he failed to show up for work.
Gillmor, who represented Ohio's 5th District in the Bowling Green area of the state, was first elected to Congress in 1988.

THE Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians’ military capability in three days, according to a national security expert.
Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, said last week that US military planners were not preparing for “pinprick strikes” against Iran’s nuclear facilities. “They’re about taking out the entire Iranian military,” he said. Debat was speaking at a meeting organised by The National Interest, a conservative foreign policy journal. He told The Sunday Times that the US military had concluded: “Whether you go for pinprick strikes or all-out military action, the reaction from the Iranians will be the same.” It was, he added, a “very legitimate strategic calculus”.
Venezuela Caracas Hilton Hotel Renamed by Hugo Chavez's Government

The new hotel name is now called the Alba Caracas. Alba means "dawn" in Spanish and is also the acronym of Hugo Chavez's Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas
trade initiative that sets to counter U.S.-backed Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).
"The goal is to convert the hotel into a socialist tourism business for the enjoyment of citizens," said Eustacio Aguilera, president of the Simon Bolivar Center, a government cultural institution that owns the hotel.

Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig Forced to Resign
Simply because of Larry Craig 's bathroom homosexual scandal.
A GOP source said confidentially that Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig is expected to resign as early as today.
The GOP was considering calling on Sen. Craig for his resignation, but a GOP source says the Republican Party is holding off on its decision and giving Craig a chance to quit.
Craig is faced with an ethics probe by the Senate Ethics Committee after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge in Minneapolis stemming from an incident in a Minneapolis airport restroom where an undercover police officer arrested the Idaho Senator for lewd behavior, though Craig pled guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct that he has since said he regrets.
Craig, 62, pleaded to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge and was fined $1000 and sentenced to ten days in the Hennepin County lockup (though the jail time was stayed as long as the politician keeps clean for a year).
Sen. Craig has faced national media pressure over his alleged homosexual actions with several newspapers reporting of prior incidents in which Craig supposedly had sexual encounters with other men, though none have been substantiated.

Jin Renqing, China's Finance Minister, Resigned Over Sex Scandal
Jin Ren-qing (金人庆), China's Finance Minister, has resigned after 4 year's on the post and been transferred to a think tank seemingly because of his role in a sex scandal.
Jin Renqing was sacked after the news surfaced that he introduced a woman to Chen Tonghai, the chairman of oil giant China Petroleum and Chemical Corp (Sinopec).
Still, the 63-year-old Jin who has been replaced by Xie Xuren (谢旭人), 59, will be in the new post as the vice-director of the State Council's Development Research Center, which is equivalent to the rank of vice minister in China.

Behind the scenes, officials are currently jockeying for top positions in the Chinese Communist Party, which is preparing for the upcoming 17th Congress on Oct. 15 -- the biggest political meeting in five years.

Senator Larry Craig Busted for Public Sex at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
Roll Call, a Washington, DC based Congressional magazine, just dropped the bombshell news that Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig was arrested for lewd conduct at Minneapolis Airport in June Sen. Larry Craig
Craig’s arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.
After he was arrested, Craig, who is married, was taken to the Airport Police Operations Center to be interviewed about the lewd conduct incident, according to the police report. At one point during the interview, Craig handed the plainclothes sergeant who arrested him a business card that identified him as a U.S. Senator and said, “What do you think about that?” the report states.
Craig was detained for approximately 45 minutes, interviewed, photographed, fingerprinted and released, and police prepared a formal complaint for interference with privacy and disorderly conduct.
According to the incident report, Sgt. Dave Karsnia was working as a plainclothes officer on June 11 investigating civilian complaints regarding sexual activity in the men’s public restroom in which Craig was arrested.
The man, who lingered in front of the stall for two minutes, was later identified as Craig.
“I could see Craig look through the crack in the door from his position. Craig would look down at his hands, ‘fidget’ with his fingers, and then look through the crack into my stall again. Craig would repeat this cycle for about two minutes,” the report states.
Craig then entered the stall next to Karsnia’s and placed his roller bag against the front of the stall door.
“My experience has shown that individuals engaging in lewd conduct use their bags to block the view from the front of their stall,” Karsnia stated in his report. “From my seated position, I could observe the shoes and ankles of Craig seated to the left of me.”
Craig was wearing dress pants with black dress shoes.
“At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly. While this was occurring, the male in the stall to my right was still present. I could hear several unknown persons in the restroom that appeared to use the restroom for its intended use. The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area,” the report states.
Craig then proceeded to swipe his hand under the stall divider several times, and Karsnia noted in his report that “I could ... see Craig had a gold ring on his ring finger as his hand was on my side of the stall divider.”
Karsnia then held his police identification down by the floor so that Craig could see it.
“With my left hand near the floor, I pointed towards the exit. Craig responded, ‘No!’ I again pointed towards the exit. Craig exited the stall with his roller bags without flushing the toilet. ... Craig said he would not go. I told Craig that he was under arrest, he had to go, and that I didn’t want to make a scene. Craig then left the restroom.”
This is the second time in a year the Republican Party has been hit by sex scandal on Capitol Hill. Last September Republican Congressman Mark Foley of Florida resigned in the wake of a scandal where he it was revealed he had solicited teenage boys who had served as congressional pages.
Larry Craig made the following statement in response to the Roll Call story this afternoon:
"At the time of this incident, I complained to the police that they were misconstruing my actions. I was not involved in any inappropriate conduct.
"I should have had the advice of counsel in resolving this matter. In hindsight, I should not have pled guilty. I was trying to handle this matter myself quickly and expeditiously."

According to Bureau of Justice statistics, between 1976 and 2005, blacks, while 13 percent of the population, committed over 52 percent of the nation's homicides and were 46 percent of the homicide victims. Ninety-four percent of black homicide victims had a black person as their murderer.
Blacks are not only the major victims of homicide; blacks suffer high rates of all categories of serious violent crime, and another black is most often the perpetrator.

Police authorities often know who are the local criminals and drug lords and where crack houses are located; however, various legal technicalities hamper their ability to make arrests and raids. Law-abiding citizens are often afraid to assist police or testify against criminals for fear of retaliation that can include murder. The level of criminal activity not only puts residents in physical jeopardy but also represents a heavy tax on people least able to bear it. That heavy tax includes higher prices for goods and services and fewer shopping opportunities because supermarkets and other large retailers are reluctant to bear the costs of doing business in high-crime areas.
So here's the question: Should black people accept government's dereliction of its first basic function, that of providing protection? My answer is no. One of our basic rights is the right to defend oneself against predators. If the government can't or won't protect people, people have a right to protect themselves.
You say, "Hey, Williams, you're not talking about vigilantism, are you?" Yes, I am. Webster's Dictionary defines vigilantism as: a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily as when the processes of law are viewed as inadequate.
Example: A number of years ago, black Muslims began to patrol Mayfair, a drug-infested, gang-ridden Washington, D.C., housing project. The gangs and drug lords left, probably because the black Muslims didn't feel obliged to issue Miranda warnings. Black men should set up neighborhood patrols, armed if necessary, and if politicians and police don't like it, they should do their jobs. No one should have to live in daily fear for their lives and safety.
