For more than 2 years now the buzz on who will portray the superheroes in the upcoming movie “Avengers” has been circulating across the web. Now at the recent Comic-Con event in the US, the identity of the cast has been unveiled.
Samuel L. Jackson who will play Nick Fury introduced the cast in front of the comic aficionados. Jackson brought out stars Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson), Scarlett Johannson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Evans (Captain America) which elicited applauses from the fans. But it did not end there as Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) was also there. Downey then introduced the rest of the cast which includes Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk).
"The Avengers" is based on the comic book series of the same name, which brings various Marvel superheroes together. The film is due in 2012. Now while fans are abuzz, the big question is how well this film will stand against the 2 Marvel teams which were already put into movies. X-men did very well while Fantastic Four was okay. Only in time we’ll be able to tell. And let’s not forget the new X-Men (First Class) is also on the heels.
