It was reported that he was seeking places for an upcoming attempt to break the land speed record in a car. But since he took off from an airstrip at hotel magnate Barron Hilton's Flying M Ranch Monday alone at 8:45 a.m., he never contact anyone via radio or by any other means. Billy Kimmel, a 27-year-old sprint car driver, was fatally injured (and later died) in crash at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on the night of night September 2 . He was involved in a three-car crash on lap 24 of the 25-lap main during the racing. Our prayers go to Kimmel and his beloved family!

Brad Keselowski, driving for Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s JR Motorsports, injured a leg in this four-car crash midway through Saturday night's NASCAR Busch Series race at California speedway.
The accident was ignited when A.J. Allmendinger, J.J. Yeley and Eric McClure bounced off each other while jockeying for position heading into turn one. The collision sent Allmendinger down the banking, where he clipped Keselowski and sent him hard into the wall.

Liu Xiang became the first Chinese to take a gold medal at the world athletics championships after winning the 110m hurdles in Osaka on Friday August 31.
Liu, also the Olympic champion who holds the world record of 12.88 seconds, clocked 12.95 seconds for the historical win. Americans Terrence Trammell and David Payne took the silver and bronze with 12.99 and 13.02 seconds, respectively.
"I am very, very excited," Liu said after running a victory lap. "I am the world champion now."
The 24-year-old Liu failed to reach the final in Edmonton 2001,took the bronze in Paris 2003 and won the silver in Helsinki 2005.

National Football League (NFL) has changed its old logo which was used since 1980. Apparently, the new logo is more impressive that its predecessor. Originally the shield, which is on everything from football players' jerseys to official t-shirts and hats, was rather 'faded' in color.
Now the National Football League's new logo is darker and more defined. The blue is bolder, the red is stronger, "NFL" print is slightly different, there are fewer stars, and the white football is new and sitting at a different angle.

Nine people, including three current or former physicians, have pleaded guilty, most affiliated with Internet and phone-order companies that filled orders for anabolic steroids and growth hormones through Signature Pharmacy of Orlando in Florida. It has been WWE’s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.
