Men who were bitten by the Brazilian wandering spider, Phoneutria nigriventer, claimed their sex lives had improved after being attacked. They experienced experienced prolonged erections.

Brazilian and US scientists are looking into using spider venom as a possible treatment for male impotence.

A two-year study has found that the venom contains a toxin, called Tx2-6, that causes erections.

The relevant toxin identified in the venom has been tested successfully on other animals.

As the wandering spider's venom can be deadly sometimes, further tests are needed before the substance can be approved for human use. Link
