Thunderbolt will never replace USB because they serve different functions. You will never see low-bandwidth devices such as keyboard/mice/USB stick using thunderbolt because it doesn't make sense.
Yes but why would these devices move to USB3 either?
Most are happy on USB1 or 2. with no demand for 3.
If they have the market for features then Wireless is the most attractive up sell for most of them over faster wires. So Low bandwidth devices are either going to stay USB 2 or go wireless.
Low bandwidth is really a moot point, it's high bandwidth that drives wired connections.

So much so, it is Wal-Mart who is pressuring studios to shun iTS, and to a large degree it is actually working.
Not for long.
Sadly,
Wal-Mart is God in the retail sector. They have far more power over the success of CDs and DVDs than Apple could dream of. I doubt that is going to change anytime soon, especially not as a result of Apple movie sales.

Woot Woot! Its a little sad though, about the SB IGP :(
As long as it doesnt shudder with the OS X animations and it plays 1080p smoothly, why does it matter? Do people really game on an Air?

Me personally, I like how the MBP are, but just give the Al. the black Al. such as the new U2 ipods have on the back. Very sleek and sexy.

Steve Jobs described the Air as "All notebooks will be like this someday" and
"the future of the MacBook"
So SSD fully replacing HDD is probably what we'll see in the next refresh I think.
But a new update needs more than that. So I think Apple will also wait for Intel's Ivy Bridge.

In order to receive the movie from the movie store it would stream to the "box".Having a HD would allow you to save the movie.
AND!!
Later in your room you could stream it from the "Box" to your computer :-)
That makes no sense. Why wouldn't it just download straight to the computer in the first place? That's where it's stored, that's where it's streamed from. You just added an extra step and made it that much more complicated.

I think there is an error on the iMac performance page.
It shows:
For i5
283912
Then for i7
283913
Shouldn't it show faster performance for the i7?
I sent an email to someone who works on their website asking them to double check that.:D

I predict that in 2015, iOS handset users will still have the highest customer satisfaction and that Apple will be walking away with the lion's share of the smartphone industry's profits.
Meaning there will be more grumpy non-iPhone users and more grumpy HTC/Nokia/Samsung/Motorola/LG shareholders.

I agree with you, mainly because, usually, Samsung develop their own stuff themself and are not known to copy others. But that time, damn Samsung, how can they say they did not!
Who is this Samsung who has developed most of its own stuff? Living abroad casts a good shadow on Samsung, but in its home country, Sammy is just a thug with endless pockets (thanks to tax freedom granted by the Korean government). Samsung buy out other techs and then put their badge and later, establish their name as the manufacturer. They are NOT innovators.

Glad to hear that they're considering making 2 or 3 different phones. That way I can get my smartphone while others can get their regular phones.

Is this really a page 1 item?
The real news would be a release date, or an upcoming event.
Still, I want one!
agreed. I've come to the decision that whatever apple releases with regards to a phone-like object will probably knock my socks off. The question is WHEN?!?!@?#

$10 !!??? It's already at $70. It won't go up much more. But good luck, and I hope it does.
I bought at $50 and it went up to $80+ in only a few months. It could happen....

I'm a pretty serious Apple fanatic and I'm willing to scrap my family's iPhones because of this. I know the government can track me anyway by watching my movement across cell towers, but this is a huge affront to privacy.
If you tie this story to the recent news from Michigan that cops there are able to suck the data off of your phone at a traffic stop, then this is really frightening.

Anyway, just my 2.
As has already been explained, Mac market share has increased while viruses on the Mac have disappeared. Your 2 cents isn't worth a penny.

Well here at work I could replace 4 PC draughting workstations with a Conroe based system. We already have 23" monitors so we are not going to purchase iMacs, and while Mac Pro's are nice they are too expensive for us... A $1500 headless system would do wonders! (and yes the mini is too little).
If Apple cannot release such a system we will have to continue purchasing PCs... :(
What I was getting at that I hear people aren't getting a Mac Pro (which is very quick) and a waiting for the Kentsfield or Clovertown Mac Pros which haven't even been considered to b released yet.

What sense would it make for Apple to update the iMac twice in such a rapid succession? If anything, Apple's hardware cycles are getting even longer, mostly around 10-12 months in recent years. And at least from Intel, there will be nothing new to put into these machines by that date.
It's not unusual for Apple to update the iMac twice in a year. They did it in 2005 and three times in 2003. Hardware is always changing, and iMacs get speed bumps or redesigns to reflect those.
Lion is going to be released about a month after the new iMac, so if the redesign somehow really coincides with the release, it will probably happen right now.
That would make Lion being released first or second week in June. That's possible of course, but highly unlikely. My guess is sometime in August, or early September.

Can anybody running Leopard confirm what users/groups have write privileges to Safari, Mail, & etc.
Just want to clarify if the permissions on that Leopard system have been modified?

He means CUT and paste hence the caps. Not copy. i.e. The text you select is both deleted and copied to the clipboard. I use it a lot myself in Windows and do miss it in OSX. Also allows you to easily move files around by CUT and pasting them :D
Wow, I didnt even realize they took CUT away, I guess because I always use copy for text, as I rarely want it deleted. As far as using it for moving files, I don't use it because I always assumed, probably wrongly, that there was some file size limit or that it could affect performance when using it for large files (I mostly work with huge ProRes files. Maybe I think that because of old Photoshop error windows, when closing the application, saying clipboard failed to save due to size?
Actually what annoys me in SL to no end is lack of file size sorting in Finder search (CMD+F) and the changes to Finder search like not being able to select which disk you're searching. If there is a way please inform me!

I've had serious plans for starting to develop software for the iPhone, as an experienced software developer. I've considered buying the latest iMac version for improved performance and a bigger screen than on my 13" MacBook. But I've changed my mind. Why develop for a platform with a defect application approval process? I don't want all that frustration. I'll probably develop for the Android instead. The iPhone is still the best platform but Apple sucks. Period.

There are a few nice features you get with a separate tablet. First, your hand doesn't interfere with your view of the screen. Second (and kind of related), you don't get fingerprints all over your screen. Third, there is no need to calibrate the pointer with the display (it's maddening when the cursor is a few pixels away from a stylus).
I see your points, but it would seem more natural to write on the screen (hand eye coordination) or to edit a photo, enlarge it, get rid of red eye, etc. If there was no adversed interaction with the stylus. Moving my hand while watching the cursor move far from the hand gets some getting used to. Using a stylus right on the screen would (in my mind) seem more natural. But you are the Pro, so I will defer to you.
