Venue
Currently the modest stadium seats only 10,000 fans, but a redevelopment project funded by the New Zealand government will increase the number of permanent seats as well as adding temporary seating, allowing 60,000 supporters to watch the World Cup final.
It is expected to be the largest sporting event held in the country since the the first Rugby World Cup took place in 1987, when New Zealand beat France for a home victory.
Ticketing
Rugby New Zealand 2011 Ltd (RNZ 2011) is developing a ticketing strategy for RWC 2011. It expects to release details of the ticketing programme towards the end of 2009, with tickets going on sale globally in early 2010.
Ticket pricing will reflect the Tournament being the world's biggest sporting event in 2011. It is expected that prices will be similar to RWC 2007.
