MOVIE REVIEW: BLACK SWAN

Psychological thriller "Black Swan" indeed was wonderful!
Released in the US in 2010, "Black Swan", buzz was really good about the film. That's why when it was shown here in the Philippines, I really made it a point to watch it. Eccentric, moving and a bit disturbing, the film was a revelation. It combines the artistry of ballet with the darkness of a personal struggles and dilemna.

Intrigue, competition, fame, dreams and struggles are some of the main points of the film. In here Natalie Portman stars as a ballerina who suddenly was given a chance to shine and everything that happened after that. Natalie Portman did a seamless performance that really is deserving of an Oscar. She wowed me in her fragileness making me believe her weakness and at the same time she impressed me with her wickedness. This film showed that Portman could really juggle between good and bad. Another revelation is Mila Kunis who did a fine supporting job for this film. The sounds and music were also nice and to be noted of. Good job to director Darren Aronofsky.

If you are into films that are really unique then Black Swan is one good choice. For me, it was simply outstanding. 4.5 out of 5 popcorns
