Huacachina, also known as the 'oasis of Americas', a small but very famous town locates in the desert of southwestern Peru. Its extraordinary sight - a tiny settlement, complete with lagoon, lush palm groves, carob trees, cafes, neatly clipped lawns, 100-strong population and even the odd swimming pool-wins tourists from all over the world. For the centuries, people in the town have never worried its glimmering waters. However, this situation is changing. With global warming so prevailing nowadays, this tiny community begins to be threatened by the worsening water shortages because the nearby city of Ica is recklessly plundering its underground river for drinking water.
