Beijing's 5A Tourist Sites

China on Monday granted four world-famous tourist attractions in Beijing as the nation's first AAAAA-rated tourist sites for their abilities to provide top tourist-oriented service:

Summer Palace [wiki]: was declared by UNESCO as an "outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese landscape garden design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole" in 1998. Summer Palace

Forbidden City [wiki]: is the Chinese Imperial palace from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. The complex consists of 800 buildings with 8,886 rooms. Its extensive grounds cover 720,000 square metres. It has the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

Badaling section of the Great Wall [wiki]: is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. Badaling

Temple of Heaven [wiki]: is a complex of Taoist buildings situated in southeastern urban Beijing, in Xuanwu District. Construction of the complex began in 1420, and was thereafter visited by all subsequent Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
